Andy and Chris went along to the NHS Health Check National Conference at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
At Gingernut Creative, we’re working hard to improve the touch points associated with Health Checks. For example, we’re making invite letters more engaging. We’re also improving the perception of health checks through local ambassadors in our campaigns.
Conference delegates really liked our approaches – there’s a genuine willingness to move on from traditional awareness.
It was fascinating to hear how Health Checks are being taken up in certain areas and what’s being done to increase engagement. Some great ideas are being trialled to make NHS Health Checks a positive community experience. They’re bringing people together to learn about improving their health – and have their check done at the same time.
Public Health England (PHE) is now starting to push the programme, something all delegates are pleased about. Some even suggested a national awareness push to create the same level of positivity enjoyed by campaigns like Change4Life. Most people at the event, however, were pleased with PHE’s commitment.
There’s been a real shift in how NHS Health Checks are marketed. The great news is all providers want to create a long-lasting perception of them as a natural, positive thing for everyone. This is something we’re already working on at Gingernut Creative.
